CPD Accreditation

Structured review.
Visible standards.
Verifiable outcomes.

CPDREG separates provider approval from activity accreditation, creating a documented pathway from organisational quality assurance to individual activity review and public verification.

What accreditation means

A quality-assurance process for professional learning.

Accreditation is designed to test whether a professional development activity has a clear educational purpose, appropriate faculty, defined learning outcomes, suitable evidence, learner support and a transparent method for assessment or feedback.

Provider approval confirms that the organisation has the operational foundations to submit activities. It does not automatically accredit every course, webinar, conference or workshop. Each activity follows its own review record.

Accreditation journey

From provider registration to public verification.

The workflow is deliberately staged so organisational approval, commercial package access and educational accreditation remain separate and auditable.

01

Provider Membership Fee

The organisation creates its account and pays the one-time/provider membership fee configured by the administrator. Until this payment is confirmed, the provider workflow remains restricted.

  • Stripe or bank transfer
  • Payment status recorded
  • Admin approval for transfers
02

Provider Application

The provider supplies company details, organisational profile, policies, quality procedures and supporting documents for review.

  • Company and contact data
  • Quality assurance evidence
  • Complaints, accessibility and governance
03

Provider Review & Approval

The accreditation team reviews the organisation. The decision can be approved, revision required or rejected, with a complete audit trail.

  • Document review
  • Internal notes
  • Revision workflow
04

Accreditation Package

Once approved, the provider purchases an accreditation package. The selected package determines trainer capacity, activity capacity and the accreditation validity window.

  • Trainer allowance
  • Activity allowance
  • Validity period in days
05

Activity Submission

The provider builds each activity individually with programme sessions, trainers, delivery format, duration, learning outcomes and supporting evidence.

  • Session/programme builder
  • Trainer qualification documents
  • Evidence and learning materials
06

Evidence & Reviewer Scoring

Assigned reviewers assess the submitted activity against the quality framework. Multiple reviewers can work independently with role-specific deadlines and comments.

  • Scoring criteria
  • Reviewer recommendations
  • Consolidated quality score
07

Revision or Accreditation Decision

If evidence is incomplete, the activity is returned for revision. When the required threshold and quality expectations are met, an accreditation record is issued.

  • Revision required workflow
  • Approval threshold
  • Accreditation number
08

Public Verification & Validity

Approved activities appear in the public register with a unique accreditation number. Validity is linked to the activity record and the active provider package window.

  • QR verification
  • Active/inactive status
  • Package-expiry enforcement

Evidence before approval

Accreditation is a review decision, not a badge purchase.

Payment provides access to the accreditation workflow; it does not guarantee approval. The activity still needs sufficient educational evidence and must satisfy the configured review threshold.

Learning designObjectives, structure, duration and delivery are examined together.
Trainer competenceProfessional background and supporting qualification documents can be reviewed.
Evidence & referencesClaims, sources and educational resources should be traceable and appropriate.
Assessment & feedbackThe provider should demonstrate how learning or participant experience is evaluated.
Quality framework

What reviewers look for.

Criteria can be configured from the management system, but the review architecture is built around clear educational and governance evidence.

01

Content Quality

Accuracy, scope, professional relevance and consistency of the educational content.

02

Learning Outcomes

Specific, measurable outcomes that align with the programme and intended audience.

03

Trainer Competence

Relevant expertise, professional registrations, CVs and competency documents.

04

Evidence & References

Appropriate sources, supporting documents and traceability of key educational claims.

05

Assessment & Feedback

Mechanisms used to evaluate participation, learning, skills or programme quality.

06

Accessibility & Compliance

Inclusive access, learner support, governance, data protection and ethical delivery.

Pricing

Provider fee and accreditation packages.

The provider membership fee activates the initial provider workflow. After provider approval, an accreditation package controls trainer/activity capacity and the accreditation validity window.

Important: package payment gives an approved provider access to activity capacity. It does not automatically accredit an activity. Each submitted activity must complete the review and decision process.
Validity & public assurance

Approval remains visible, but validity is always time-aware.

When an accreditation package reaches its end date, package-linked accreditations can be shown as inactive rather than being deleted. This preserves the historical record while making current validity clear to the public.

INACTIVEHistorical record retained, but no longer currently valid.
VERIFYPublic lookup by provider or accreditation number.
